About
Savage Charm Media Co. is a collective of elite media mercenaries led by Mitch Charman, established the foundations of creating premium productions on independent budgets, based on ongoing research and development with leading innovators.
A creative director, editor, and visual effects artist, Mitch found himself regularly improving production companies’ software, hardware, and project management pipelines. He became acutely aware of the widespread and systemic reliance on heavy workflows, excessive overheads, and a lack of technological understanding, and has often been on the other end of blown-out timelines and budgets.
During one of the previous production companies he co-founded with Alex Proyas and Richard Learoyd, Mitch worked with technicians straight from productions with James Cameron and Christopher Nolan to develop virtual production workflows and one of Australia’s first XR stages (LED volume).
He has since independently consulted the installation of the world’s largest XR stage in an education facility at the Australian Film, Radio, and Television School. He’s also run Acting for Screen workshops at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts and masterclasses at Billy Blue Academy of Design.
We’re proud to announce Savage Charm’s first employee now leads the Jedi Training Program for visual effects artists at Industrial Light and Magic, where he incorporates Savage Charm’s unique ethos into some of the biggest movies ever made, including for Disney and the Marvel and Star Wars franchises.
